Bosna River

The Bosna River is one of the longest, the third in fact, rivers found in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is 168 miles long. The major waterways that empty into the River are the Zeljeznica, Fojacka, Fojnica, Lasva, Gostovic, Krivaja, Usora and Spreca rivers. These rivers are famous for their freshwater fishing. It begins at the Vrelo Bosne spring at Mount Igman, a major tourist site for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosna River eventually empties into the Sava River.

The River passes through the Sarajevo Canton, the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Doboj Region, the Posavina Caton, and the cities of Visoko, Zenica and Doboj.

The Bosna River area is home to the Bosna River Valley, the industrial center of Bosnia and Herzegovina where almost one million people live. The Valley is also the site of several major cities.
